Borage

Hardy annual to 2 feet. The bristly, grey-green leaves impart a cucumber flavor to cool drinks & yogurt dips. Reputed to dispel depressed moods. The cooked young leaves can be eaten like spinach. Blue, star-shaped flowers that fade to pink will continue to bloom in cut flower arrangements. Direct seed in spring in full sun, or start indoors; cover seed lightly, needs light to germinate.
